A Birthday Letter to My Younger Self — and Every Girl Still Finding Her Glow ✨

Hey Gems,

I turned 25.

And if I’m being honest… I thought I’d feel different.

When I was younger, I imagined 25 would mean having everything figured out. I thought I’d feel completely confident, have clear answers, know exactly where I was going, and somehow magically become the version of myself I always pictured.

But life doesn’t work like that.

Instead, 25 feels softer.

Less pressure.

More understanding.

Less proving.

More becoming.

This year taught me something I didn’t expect:

Growth isn’t always loud.

Sometimes growth looks like resting. Letting go. Starting over. Choosing yourself. Trusting God. Staying kind without abandoning yourself. Continuing anyway.

So this is a letter to younger me.

And maybe to you too — if you’re still finding your glow.

If you’re still becoming.

If you’re learning that life isn’t about perfection… but intention.

Here are 25 things I’ve learned by 25 🤍

1. People-pleasing is one of the fastest ways to lose yourself.

Trying to keep everyone happy can leave no space for you.

Your glow was never meant to come from approval.

It comes from knowing who you are.

2. Self-respect changes everything.

The relationship you have with yourself teaches people how to treat you.

Show up for yourself.

Keep promises to yourself.

Trust yourself.

3. Standards are not selfish.

Boundaries don’t make you mean.

They protect your peace, your energy, your future, and your heart.

4. Focus on things nobody can take away.

Knowledge.

Growth.

Faith.

Character.

Mindset.

That’s real wealth.

5. Taking care of your body is self-love.

Rest.

Move.

Stretch.

Hydrate.

Nourish.

You only get one body — treat it like someone you care about.

6. Stress will eventually ask for attention.

I learned that pushing through everything isn’t strength.

Your health matters more than constant productivity.

Slow down before life forces you to.

7. Being alone doesn’t mean you’re unlovable.

Some seasons are meant for healing.

Some seasons are meant for discovering who you are without noise.

8. Feeling “not okay” doesn’t mean you’re failing.

You don’t have to be strong every day.

You’re allowed to be human.

9. Everything meaningful takes time.

Healing.

Trust.

Growth.

Dreams.

Blooming cannot be rushed.

10. You don’t need to explain your growth.

Not everyone will understand your next chapter.

Keep growing anyway.

11. God will guide you even when you don’t know what to pray.

Sometimes faith sounds like:

“I don’t understand right now… but I trust You.”

12. Rest is productive.

Your value isn’t measured by how exhausted you are.

Rest is part of growth too.

13. You are allowed to outgrow people.

Not everyone is meant to come with you forever.

That doesn’t make the memories less meaningful.

14. Protect your peace like it’s sacred.

Because it is.

Not every conversation deserves access to your energy.

15. Confidence comes from action.

You don’t wait to feel ready.

You start.

And confidence follows.

16. You do not need to prove your worth.

Your worth exists whether people recognize it or not.

Stop auditioning for spaces that don’t value you.

17. Not all love is meant to last.

But every love teaches.

And every version of you deserved love.

18. Dreams take discipline.

Wanting something is beautiful.

Showing up for it repeatedly changes lives.

19. You are the main character of your life.

Stop shrinking.

Stop apologizing for taking up space.

Live your story.

20. Alone doesn’t mean empty.

Some of the most powerful moments happen when it’s just you and your growth.

Your glow doesn’t need a crowd.

21. The way you speak to yourself matters — even when nobody hears it.

Your mind is listening.

The words you repeat become beliefs.

Pay attention to what you tell yourself when things go wrong.

You don’t need to become unrealistically positive.

But speak to yourself with honesty and kindness.

Replace:

“I’m behind”

with

“I’m becoming.”

Replace:

“I failed”

with

“I learned.”

Your inner voice becomes the environment you grow in.

22. Music heals in ways words sometimes can’t.

Some songs feel like prayers.

Some feel like closure.

Some remind you who you are.

23. You can be soft and powerful.

You don’t have to choose.

Your softness isn’t a weakness.

24. You’re still learning — and that’s okay.

Nobody has life fully figured out.

We just become more willing to trust ourselves.

25. When to let go.

This one changed me.

Not every dream stays.

Not every person stays.

Not every version of you belongs in your next chapter.

And that doesn’t mean you failed.

Sometimes growth looks like releasing what no longer fits.

Trusting that making space is part of becoming.

Opening your hands instead of holding tighter.

Because life has a beautiful way of meeting you where you finally let go.

Final Thoughts

At 25, I’m realizing life isn’t about becoming perfect.

It’s about becoming honest.

Choosing yourself.

Trusting God.

Creating a life that feels aligned instead of impressive.

So today, I’m honoring the version of me that kept going.

The girl who stayed soft.

The girl who learned.

The girl who kept showing up.

And to every girl still finding her glow—

You are not behind.

You are becoming.

Here’s to blooming with grace, glowing with purpose, and winging it wisely 🪽

Before You Go… 🤍

If any part of this felt familiar… if you’re in a season of growing, healing, letting go, finding yourself again, building confidence, creating better habits, or simply trying to become the version of you that feels most aligned—

I want you to know you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

I’m still learning too.

This community was never created because I have all the answers — it was created because I know what it feels like to want guidance, support, clarity, and a place that reminds you you’re not behind.

That’s why I created Gem Glow Community ✨

A space for girls who want to grow intentionally, reflect together, support each other, ask questions, share experiences, and become the version of themselves they’re proud of.

If you ever need encouragement, guidance, resources, or just someone to remind you that growth isn’t linear—

I’m here.

Come join us, connect, ask questions, and let’s stop winging life alone and start living intentionally
