💖 Glow Doesn’t Mean Perfect: 5 Things I’m Still Learning to Love About Me

Hey Gems ✨Let’s get real for a second — glow isn’t about filters, flawless skin, or having it all figured out. It’s about showing up as you are, even when you feel unsure. It’s about learning to love the in-between versions of yourself, not just the highlight reel.
Truth is... I’m still learning to love parts of me. And instead of hiding it, I want to share it. Because glow doesn’t mean perfect, it means healing, evolving, and shining anyway.
Here are 5 things I’m still learning to love about myself — maybe you’ll see yourself in a few of these too 💭
1. My Overthinking Mind 🧠
I can overthink a text message for ten minutes or replay a convo from two years ago like it just happened. I used to hate this about myself. But now? I’m starting to appreciate how deeply I care, how aware I am, and how thoughtful that makes me.
🦋 Reminder: You’re not “too much” for thinking deeply. Just learn to give your mind the same grace you give everyone else.
2. My Healing Pace 🕊️
Some people bounce back fast. Me? I need time. Time to feel. Time to cry. Time to understand why something hurt. And that’s okay. I’m learning that my glow doesn’t need to be rushed.
🦋 Reminder: Slow healing is still healing. You’re allowed to take your time.
3. My Body’s Changes 🌸
Weight fluctuations, skin changes, bloating, scars — getting caught in the comparison trap is easy. But this body? It’s carried me through everything. It’s still here, still glowing, still soft and strong.
🦋 Reminder: You don’t need to shrink to shine. You’re a gem at every stage.
4. My Quiet Seasons 🤍
Sometimes I disappear. I get quiet. I don’t always show up the way I want to — and I used to feel guilty for that. But now I realize: those quiet seasons are sacred. That’s where I recharge, reflect, and realign.
🦋 Reminder: You don’t have to be seen to be growing.
5. My Dreams That Haven’t Happened Yet 🌟
It’s hard not to feel behind. I have dreams I haven’t reached, plans that didn’t work out, and goals I’m still working toward. But I’m learning to love the journey, not just the results.
🦋 Reminder: Delay is not denial. What’s meant for you is still being prepared for you.
🦋 Wing It Wisely – This Week’s Self-Love Practice:
Take 15 minutes this week to journal on this prompt: “What am I still learning to love about me?”No judgment. Just honesty. Then write down one kind thing you can do to support that part of you this week — a soft step toward deeper self-love.
Final Glow Words 💫
You don’t have to be perfect to inspire others. You just have to be real. Your glow is not in being flawless — it’s in being fearlessly yourself, even while healing. So be patient with the parts you’re still learning to love. Speak gently to them. You’re growing in real time, and that’s beautiful.
With love & light always,
